Event Details

The University of Tennessee is synonymous with strong sports programs … football, men’s and women’s basketball, etc., but how often do we live up to our "Volunteers" name? Here is an excellent opportunity for all ages to give back to our own community and truly make a difference!

For the first time, the UT Alumni group is gathering a team to participate in Hands on DC, April 28, 2007. Hands on DC is a one day work-a-thon geared at making better schools and brighter futures. There are 30 DC Public Schools in dire need of painting, cleaning, landscaping and other various projects. Aside from the physical work, the work-a-thon also raises money for College Bound, an organization that mentors DC students and provides college scholarships.
